Boston, Mass. July 8, 1999 - Worlds Inc. The first Agreement which Worlds announced on June 16th provides for Worlds to be The Official 3D Internet broadband chat content provider on Freeserve which will include Worlds 3D Internet technology and 3D broadband content on millions of new Freeserve ISP access CDs.
Freeserve plc, a subsidiary of Dixons Group plc, the UK's largest electronics retailer with almost 1,000 outlets, has generated over 1.2 million active user accounts in only ten months, making it one of the largest ISPs globally with more members in the UK than American Online (NYSE:AOL).
Both Agreements with Freeserve provide for advertising revenue sharing between Freeserve and Worlds while the Worlds/Freeserve 3D broadband Agreement also provides for an e-commerce link on Freeserve's Shopping Channel Page back to WorldsStore.com which sells the merchandise of a number of major recording artists, including Elton John, Sting, U2, Shania Twain, and David Bowie, among others.
According to Steven G. Chrust, Chairman of Worlds, "Freeserve Chat went live on a soft launch approximately two weeks ago and we are extremely pleased with the results to date."
Mr. Chrust continued by noting that "Freeserve's overall decision to work with Worlds highly dedicated team of software developers and marketeer's is, I believe, a reflection of Worlds cutting edge technology and content. The addition of Worlds content, both in the currently available traditional 2D area and, especially, our more advanced 3D Internet technology and 3D broadband content area when that is introduced later this year, will enhance the user's experience, thus creating greater member loyalty and longer online time on the already robust Freeserve site."
The Freeserve 2D Chat content pages will contain a prominent mention in the upper right hand corner noting that Freeserve Chat is managed by Worlds.com, that being Worlds Internet address.
To experience the 2D chat, users all over the world can today log onto the Freeserve Web site, www.freeserve.net, and access the Chat Channel. The Chat Channel consists of a wide range of different chat rooms which host conversations on various topics, including Teens, Workaholics, Art & Culture, Business, and Music, among others.
"Chat is a key building block for Freeserve. Its delivery responds to the enormous number of requests we have received for this service," said John Pluthero, Freeserve chief executive. "The channel has been live on the site for two weeks and is already extremely popular. I'm sure the arrival of 3D Chat will have everyone hooked - not only can you adopt a new virtual personality but you can meet like-minded individuals in various environments within the virtual world."
