WORLDS.COM LAUNCHES FIRST ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN FOR
3D ENTERTAINMENT PORTAL TARGETING THREE MAJOR MARKETS
Print & Broadcast Rolls Out
in New York City, San Francisco and Boston
New York, NY, April 6, 2000 - Worlds.com (OTC/BB: WDDD), the leading three-dimensional
(3D) entertainment portal, has launched its first-ever advertising campaign, with outdoor
advertising (billboards and bus shelters), radio spots and print placements targeted to the New
York, San Francisco and Boston metropolitan areas.
The campaign, developed by Ignition Inc. of New York, is running in high-density areas that
have a concentration of Internet activity and users (the Silicon Valley in San Francisco Bay
Area, Silicon Alley in New York and The Beltway in Boston). The advertisements are tactically
focused on attracting new users as well as gaining exposure in the Internet business and
investment communities. The campaign consists of nine executions for print and outdoor, and
four radio spots. In addition, print ads will run in The Industry Standard and Red Herring for
the initial campaign.
"We are very excited about the advertising campaign," said Debra Sito, executive vice president
of business development and marketing at Worlds.com. "We are launching the campaign as
part of our strategy to establish the brand identity for our rich media 3D environments, as well
as increase our consumer user base. Additionally, our 3D environments are clearly depicted in
the advertisements to show how 3D adds a new dimension to the Internet with respect to
advertising, e-commerce and community. "
The nine outdoor executions, designed to feature the different environments one can visit on
Worlds.com, are actual "screen captures" from the site. All the spots portray the power of rich
media, expressing the idea of getting "into" the Internet rather than "on" the Internet.
"The images which come directly from the site create a powerful visual image," said Sito. "3D
brings a entirely new dimension to the Internet."
One advertisement featuring a futuristic background reads, "1492: The World Is No Longer Flat.
2000: Neither Is Your Web Site." Several of the other advertisements use humor to reflect the
adventures and experiences you can have in Worlds.com 3D environments. For instance,
another advertisement, which features the Worlds.com nightclub environment, reads, "Face
Facts, This May Be The Only Chance You Have Of Dancing With A Swedish Girl." All the
advertisements contain Worlds tagline, "Beam Into the Internet."
The radio spots highlight the interactive and social nature of the Worlds.com entertainment
portal. One spot features two college students chatting online with a pair of Swedish models.
Another identifies the best after-hours club in the world - the Club on Worlds.com - and a third
takes place in Yankee Stadium, which is a feature of the New York Yankees World on
Yankees.com.
