New York, NY, July 18, 2000 – Worlds.com (OTC/BB: WDDD.OB), the leading
three-dimensional (3D) entertainment portal, announced today that its Worlds
Player will be featured on a special David Bowie enhanced CD created by
Yahoo! Internet Life, a Ziff Davis Media publication and the world's leading
consumer Net magazine, and by UltraStar, David Bowie's pioneering Internet
entertainment company.
The CD will be bundled on 240,000 copies of the newsstand edition of Yahoo!
Internet Life's August issue, on-sale starting July 25.
The Worlds Player included on the CD, was created by Worlds.com for David
Bowie's official online community and branded ISP, "BowieNet." The CD will
feature BowieWorld, Worlds.com's interactive 3D David Bowie channel, and an
unreleased video and soundtrack by the artist developed by UltraStar and
Yahoo! Internet Life.
The agreement with Yahoo! Internet Life is a continuation of Worlds.com's
initiative to partner with established media properties to build brand
recognition. In the past year, Worlds has partnered with TEEN Magazine and
Gentlemen's Quarterly on CD bundle packages. Worlds.com is also the
exclusive 3D technology provider for UltraStar and its subscription-based
online communities including BowieNet, Hanson.Net, YankeesXtreme and
ClevelandBrowns.com.
"This bundle further establishes the Worlds.com distribution model of
working with major entertainment properties and using alternative
distribution channels to build our on-line user base," said Thom Kidrin,
President/CEO of Worlds.com. "David Bowie is on the cutting edge of
technology, music and the Internet and we feel his leadership position
accurately reflects on the work we are doing at Worlds.com."
"We are pleased to have David Bowie and his Internet Company's creative
contribution to this issue, in which Bowie is honored as the Yahoo! Internet
Life Online Music Award's Pioneer of the Year," said Andrew Kramer,
Publisher of Yahoo! Internet Life. "Worlds.com's 3D software, included on
this co-created CD, adds a new dimension to the Internet experience,
particularly as it is focused on our honoree, and provides great value to
our readership."
